During the Writers Block Mural Festival, I was invited to create a mural on the De Klanderij parking garage in Leeuwarden.
The mural was approximately 6 meters by 7 meters and was created using a cherry picker, as the mural itself was located at a height of about 20 meters.
For this mural, I was inspired by Mata Hari, one of the most famous historical figures from Leeuwarden. With her mysterious appearance, strong personality, and eventful life story, she became an icon that continues to capture the imagination.
With this mural, a piece of Frisian history receives a contemporary and artistic interpretation. In this way, the work contributes to the identity of the city and invites passersby to pause and reflect on the remarkable story of Mata Hari.
