SBO de Griffel

In 2019, I created a mural for Basisschool De Griffel, using the imagination of the students as the starting point.

Prior to the design, all children were given the assignment to put their most beautiful, craziest, and most imaginative ideas on paper. Without limitations, a world full of extraordinary creatures, magical landscapes, and creative stories emerged. These drawings became the source of inspiration for the final mural.

From all the submissions, I selected the most striking and surprising ideas. I developed these in my own painting style and brought them together into one large whole. Some elements were taken almost literally from the students' drawings, while others were translated into a new composition that connects the various fantasies.

The result is a colorful mural in which the students' creativity remains visible forever. By seeing their own ideas reflected on the wall, the children feel connected to the artwork and to their school. In this way, not only has an inspiring environment been created, but also a lasting memory of the students' imagination and creativity.
